๐ŸŒฟ Hemp Sampling Services We Offer

โœ… USDA Pre-Harvest Compliance Sampling

USDA pre-harvest compliance sampling is required for regulated hemp crops under the U.S. Domestic Hemp Production Program.

This service follows USDA sampling protocols and includes:

  • Sampling conducted within 30 days of harvest
  • Representative hemp sample collection
  • Chain of custody and secure documentation
  • Required sampling paperwork
  • Submission support to an appropriate hemp testing laboratory

USDA pre-harvest compliance samples are used to determine whether a hemp lot meets the acceptable hemp THC level before harvest.

๐Ÿ”ฌ Hemp Potency Checks

Non-Compliance Sampling

Potency checks are designed for growers who want to monitor cannabinoid levels throughout the growth cycle.

This service provides internal-use cannabinoid data only and may be useful for:

  • Crop development monitoring
  • R&D
  • Harvest timing decisions
  • Informal cannabinoid testing
  • Evaluating a cultivar before scaling production

Potency check results:

  • Are not reported to USDA
  • Are not entered into the HeMP platform
  • Do not satisfy USDA pre-harvest compliance testing requirements

โš ๏ธ Potency checks are for informational purposes only and do not replace required USDA compliance sampling.

๐Ÿ” Choosing the Right Lab for the Right Job

Producers may select the laboratory of their choice, provided it meets applicable USDA and DEA requirements. Dustin’s Sampling Service can help coordinate hemp testing based on the purpose of the sample.

๐Ÿ›๏ธ USDA Pre-Harvest Compliance Testing

National Science Laboratories — Gastonia, NC

National Science Laboratories is part of USDA Agricultural Marketing Service and is commonly used for official USDA hemp compliance testing.

This is generally the preferred option for required pre-harvest compliance samples submitted through the Hemp Portal.

๐Ÿงช Potency Checks / Non-Compliance Testing

New Bloom Labs

New Bloom Labs is a commercial third-party laboratory option for cannabinoid profiling and internal hemp potency checks.

This is a good fit when producers want to evaluate cannabinoid levels before the official USDA pre-harvest compliance window.

๐Ÿงช Certified Hemp Testing Laboratories

Laboratories conducting official hemp THC compliance testing must meet USDA requirements. USDA has delayed enforcement of the DEA-registration requirement for hemp testing laboratories until December 31, 2026, but laboratories must still comply with all other applicable USDA hemp testing requirements.

USDA maintains an informational directory of DEA-registered hemp analytical testing laboratories. Producers should verify current lab requirements before submitting official compliance samples.

  • ๐Ÿ”— See the official USDA list of hemp analytical testing laboratories here.

๐Ÿ’ฒ Laboratory Fees

For basic sampling services, producers are responsible for laboratory testing fees, shipping, and any lab account requirements.

For Turn-Key Sampling Services, applicable lab fees are included as part of the total service cost.

Laboratory fees may vary depending on the type of test requested.
